March 2010

The Rhythmic Gymnastics Program hosted the 8th annual Friendship Invitational competition. We have been hosting this event for the last few years, and it is always a great success. Because of great effort and amazing teamwork, this year it was one of the most successful. There were 93 competitors at the event at Carondelet High School in Concord, CA. CYC team members did a great job. Melanie Dratva took first place, Olga Movichkova took third, Bailee Siv took fifth and Harmony Nichols took fourth. We want to congratulate the girls and wish them luck in the competitions coming up.
Also, I would like to thank all the parents and volunteers that helped with the event. Special thanks go to Nicki Gwizdak and Edie Ault for volunteering throughout the duration of the event. And a very big and special thank you to the Chris Mashburn Memorial Foundation (CMMF). They have been donating and supporting our program for the last five years.
The Rhythmic Gymnastics Student of the Month is Melanie Dratva.
