| The CYC boxing program is the cornerstone and oldest program at the Center. Over
the years, the CYC has produced some outstanding boxers and continues to do so today.
But more importantly, the boxing program has taught and developed core values in
young boys and girls that will help them in all areas of their lives. The coaching
staff proudly teaches the values of respect, camaraderie, tenacity, sportsmanship,
honor, and especially the three D's of

This month the boxing team got back into the groove of traveling after a month of rest. We had a large group travel to Bend, Oregon to participate in the Oregon State Golden Gloves tournament from February 12-13. Kevin Montano, Jose Delgado, Jose Gomez, Manuel Sanchez, Daniel Thomas and Erick Montano all came back holding their heads high with wins. Manny Sanchez is a part of our customer service team at CYC and has come back from a five year hiatus to win his first bout. Up next, boxers have the Northern California Local Golden Gloves on February 24 and then the Regional Golden Gloves on March 20.
The Boxing Student of the Month is Erick Montano for his win in the open men’s division at the Oregon State Golden Gloves. He beat Jamie Sandoval from Seattle, WA.
