| The CYC boxing program is the cornerstone and oldest program at the Center. Over
the years, the CYC has produced some outstanding boxers and continues to do so today.
But more importantly, the boxing program has taught and developed core values in
young boys and girls that will help them in all areas of their lives. The coaching
staff proudly teaches the values of respect, camaraderie, tenacity, sportsmanship,
honor, and especially the three D's of
the CYC: Discipline, Dedication, and Desire. More > |

April 2010

In March both Eric Altamirano and Daniel Thomas won the Northern California Golden Gloves. This advanced them both to the Regional Golden Gloves on March 20 and 21 in Tulare, CA. Winning his bout, Eric is moving on to state on April 3. This means that he will be moving on to fight the Southern California champion for the right to move to the National Championships which will be held in Little Rock, AR from May 3-8.
Also, this month a number of boxers got the chance to go out with the Outdoor Activities Program for a fishing trip on the Flying “A” where they learned about fishing and the marine life in the bay.
The Boxing Student of the Month is Eric Altamirano for his accomplishments this month in the ring. |
